51st Annual Juried Competition 02/27/2014 to 06/14/2014 The Masur Museum of Art’s Annual Juried Competition (February 27th – June 14th, 2013) showcases contemporary artists throughout the United States of America working in any medium.
Beginner Digital Photography Workshop with Jenny Ellerbe 03/11/2014 The class will cover the basic camera settings such as aperture and shutter speed, exposure control, depth of field, composition, digital camera menus, histograms, and very basic image editing. Classes will be small and relaxed with plenty of time for discussion and hands-on experience. The only requirement is a either a digital SLR (such as a Canon Rebel or Nikon D40) or an advanced point and shoot with manual settings. Please call or e-mail if you are unsure about

Biedenharn Museum and Gardens presents: Halie Loren 03/11/2014 Award winning singer songwriter Halie Loren returns to Monroe Tuesday, March 11 at 7 P.M for a vocal performance in the Fountain Room of the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens. This past December Miss Loren wowed the audience during the "Jazzy Sounds of the Season" concert with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra. At the upcoming concert Ms Loren will be accompanied on the Biedenharn's Grand Piano. Guests will enjoy standards such as "Fly me to the Moon," "Smile," "What a Wonderful World' and "The Girl from Impanema" along with original songs that have won world wide accolades and awards. Loren's most recent album, Heart First, won Jazz Critique Magazine's Golden prize in the vocal album section of Jazz Disc Audio Awards 2011. Guests are advised to purchase tickets early as there are a limited number of seats available.
